Modeling Reality with Virtual Worlds

Virtual reality is a headed mounted display that is created by computers which allows a person to experience and interact in 3D world. It creates such believable experience that allows you to to explore the virtual world thinking that you are actually there mentally and physically.

According to fdmgroup.com there are many ways the virtual reality can be used, such as for training in the Military. "Virtual reality can put a trainee in a number of different situations, places and environments so the military are using it for flight simulations, battlefield simulations, medic training, vehicle simulation and virtual boot camp, among other things". The main advantage of using VR is that it helps reduce the cost for training needed compared to in reality. Using VR exposure therapy also helps with mental health issues such as post traumatic stress by re-enactment of a traumatic event which helps treat the anxiety, phobias, and depression. The main advantage of using theVR here according to Mansell is that it provide a safe environment for patients to come into contact with things they fear, whilst remaining in a controlled and safe environment. Another important use for VR is for medical training. The medical and dental students can use the VR to practice for surgeries and procedures which allows them to have a consequence free learning enthronement. And the main benefit to use the VR is that it allows the student to develop skills that is necessary for real world use. There are many more uses the VR can be used such as for education, sports, gaming, virtual prototypes, and more the uses are endless. Virtual reality helps all the people be even more creative
because they are not limited to anything. According to research.net it stated that with the help of virtual reality, "it provides environments in which it is not only possible but also necessary to generate and try out ideas. This helps open new possibilities for learners, prompting a reconsideration of how learning takes place, and setting education in a context of playfulness, delight and creativity".  It helps a lot to learn and be creative because it engages learners by bringing facts and figures to life. Most researchers and people can agree that everyone learns best by experiential learning, and people often remember by actually seeing something rather than reading it from a book.

I believe the future of virtual world would be the next big thing. Just as smart phones, tablets, smart tv's took over the world, virtual reality will be next as well. I think in the future all classrooms will start to have VR headsets that everyone will use to learn. The Virtual reality will be so real that you probably won't even know whats real and whats not. More and more companies will invest in making apps, phone calls and and other uses as well to make the VR headset more useful.
